    Personal Information

I’m a soon to be 24 year old graduate assistant certified Athletic Trainer at the University of the Cumberlands, where I’m finishing my Master of Arts in Teaching Physical Education. I received my Bachelors in Athletic Training at Otterbein University & moved to Kentucky in Aug. 2011.  I’m a spunky “Northerner” & Catholic as the southerners say. I’m a die hard Buckeye & Cleveland fan. I’m very family oriented; my parents are my very best friends & even though my family’s spread out through the US we’re all pretty close. My boyfriend Ryan & I have three fur-babies; two cats, Tito & Tumi, and a dog, Bailee. I’m a huge animal lover & fitness nut with an uncanny ability to constantly laugh, goof-off & socialize… that is until I make like the Energizer Bunny at bedtime & fall asleep at 8-9 pm.

What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?

I have competed in the Mike Francois Classic 2011 (first show, 5th place.) The INBF Tri-State Classic 2011 (4th place.) The Northern Kentucky Classic 2013 (6th place.)  I’ll be competing in the Kentucky Derby Classic at the end of April 2013 & future shows will go according to my schedule.  For me, my placing’s have been my greatest accomplishment. I realize that 5th, 4th & 6th place finishes are not that extravagant & the competitor in me obviously would like higher (I’m super competitive- definition of a sore loser,) but with all the times I’ve competed (in 2011 I was finishing up my senior year of college) and for the NKY (finishing/working on my Capstone for my Masters while constantly getting sick from my adorable K-2 students & covering practices) I have been able to balance my educational requirements, work requirements (as an Athletic Trainer, that’s not easy) and still maintain me & social life time.

WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN & WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MAKE THE TRANSFORMATION?

When I started with Julie my bodyfat was 19% & I weighed 116 lbs. Just 10 weeks later I was at 14% bodyfat & about 110-112 lbs. Following Julie’s program for me has been the key to my journey. For me though, my transformation hasn’t been just physically. It’s been an emotional & mental one as well. I’ve been lucky enough to have an amazing support system of family & friends & Julie (& Rick) in my life, not to mention my athletes & coaches. As a young, professional woman I have grown into exactly who I want to be before the age of 23. I’m grateful for that & look forward to my future!

What do you enjoy most about fitness?

It’s my “ME” time. One of my co-workers has said to me that she knows when I haven’t had my workout because I’m just not me. I have been & always will be an athlete – my parents were athletes & raised me that way. I love the way it makes me feel & I love the way it transforms individuals. Fitness is more than just being healthy; it’s learning so many life lessons that we lose site of or take advantage of, whether for ourselves or others around us.

    What are your fitness goals?

My goals are pretty broad. I personally would like to qualify & become an IFBB pro by the time I’m 27. I’d like to qualify for Nationals within the next 2 years. But in the scheme of things, my ultimate goal is to become the person I have always wanted to be. I want to be a role model for my family, friends & athletes but to others as well. I want to help motivate & encourage others to live healthy lives & be the best they can be.

What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

Me. I miss being an athlete & working around every sport, every season drives me absolutely crazy no matter how much I love it. I’m always behind the bench jumping up or getting too excited when plays are made. I’m also absolutely crazy with the human body; I love reading, studying & discussing new workouts, rehab’s, nutrition, supplements, psychology & injuries/injury prevention. This is my element & passion so why not represent & encompass all of that?

What is the best part about working with Julie?

Julie handles my crazy. I realize that’s silly but Julie is the calm before & after your storm. She’s always there & always patient, positive & uplifting. She can motivate you & make you feel like you’re the shining star that you are. She’s a mentor, a friend, a coach, a stylist, and much more all wrapped into one.

What is the worst part about working with Julie?

    Not a thing!!!

    Favorite 'diet' food:

Anything with Peanut Butter or Walden’s Farm (my sweet tooth fix besides UMP!) But I love my breakfast foods (protein pancakes & turkey bacon! YUM!)

Any other comments or anything else you would like to share

Being fit and healthy is not a diet, it is a lifestyle!!  It requires hard work day in day out and the motivation to continue even when you feel like stopping.  If you haven’t already, find someone who gives you that “after workout” feeling, that high of “I can’t wait until my next workout.”   My husband once said to me “it’s not about where you are going, it’s about how you get there.”  Enjoy your workouts!!

    Hometown:

Newark, Ohio. Presently residing in Williamsburg, KY

My ultimate goal is to become the person I have always wanted to be!
