    I’ve heard, directly and indirectly, many stories of women training to compete in a bikini, figure, etc competition. While the stories end with an individual fulfilling their goal of competing, most are a less than ideal experience. An experience that has left both friends and acquaintances of mine not wanting to ever compete again after only their first show.

    I see women in the gym doing hours of cardio multiple times a day at times, calories so low that they struggle to get through a workout, food variations that don’t exist and require months of the same food items. I can’t speak for others, but this by no means sounds like a “fun” way to get in shape and gear up for such an exciting accomplishment. I can’t see the benefit to this approach, the health benefit to this approach, or the desire to want to continue with this approach. No thank you!

    Stories like these have never come from the many women I’ve met along the way that train with Julie Lohre!

    Over the few short years of my training with Julie, I continue to see how thankful I am to be able to train with such an amazing trainer!  In return, I’m over the moon that she continues to want to train with me!  Julie is not only supportive and understanding, but she is an expert at this field. She knows how the woman’s body reacts to training, how to adjust individual training needs all while preparing for a competition in the most healthy way possible.

    Now, does this approach come with a healthy dose of needed pain, absolutely it does! Julie never fails to kick my butt with every new monthly training plan, she keeps me curious to try new food options and recipes each month (time I must commit to plot out my grocery list and food preparation), and keeps me honest if I truly am not ready to compete at any particular time. I LOVE the new plans because I never get bored, I LOVE the food options because I’m naturally a creature of habit and would easily get burned out not changing these things myself, and I LOVE her complete dedication to my goals too – making sure I’m only in the best condition at that point in time before she says “we are ready”!

    While this approach may take a bit more time than others, I’ve learned why it matters so much just by listening to people around me that do not train wth Julie. I’ve learned to have a completely different opinion on what it means to gain muscle, lean out, eat 1800 calories, and still feel amazing! I will gladly plan extra time in my show preparation plans to accomplish my goals in a truly fun, hard working, but healthy way!!
