    Personal Information

I have been married to my husband Mike since 2006, we have two children Mac-5 and Amelia-2. I am a Registered Nurse Unit Based Educator. I am currently attending Nursing Graduate school at Xavier University. I have been active all of my life; I have danced and cheered since I was little, once I started junior high and high school I also participated in track. My husband has been into working/lifting for many years and has made it a very large part of his everyday life. One day last February I decided that I was done sitting on the couch waiting for him to get finished working out, I wanted to join. At first working out was a goal to look and feel good in my own skin for the summer time. Well spring hit and it was much more than that. I had found a new love for fitness! My husband inspired me to become fit and feel good about it too! I want my children to know that exercise is a normal part of life. This journey has been one of struggles and celebrations. I have been able to compete and learn so many new things. Fitness has made a permanent lasting impression into my life that will never change.

What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?

I have competed in two figure competitions:
Fitness America Ohio Valley- 5th place Figure
    NPC-Monster Mash-2nd place Figure
Placing in these competitions was a wonderful experience and left me craving more, however my biggest accomplishment through out this process was finding a new me. I love who I have become and the respect that I have for hard work and dedication as well as just being ME!

WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN & WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MAKE THE TRANSFORMATION?

My biggest transformation has been the way that I shop, eat, and prepare my food. I have been able to change the flavors of the food that I needed to prepare to add a variety of flavors to my diet, without adding any extra fat or calories. I didn’t realize the impact that diet has on the transformation of you body, without maintaining a clean diet I wouldn’t have seen the body changes that I have.

What do you enjoy most about fitness?

I enjoy the way that working out makes me feel. I love to push myself to see how much further I am able to go. Once I started working out I started making small attainable goals. I know that it takes time to see results, but the feeling that you get when you start reaching your goals is the best thing about fitness.

    What are your fitness goals?

My fitness goals are to pick up competing in the spring, and to work hard in the off season to obtain more overall muscle mass. I want to come into the spring competition season looking and feeling better than ever.

What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

I have a wonderful support system at home, my husband has been there through the tears and joys that I have had through out this journey, without his support and dedication to my fitness goals I wouldn’t be as successful as I am today! Having that support is vital to maintaining my healthy lifestyle, because I can count on him to help me when I am having just one of those low days where I have no motivation. 🙂

What is the best part about working with Julie?

The best part about working with Julie, is the advice that she gives. She always answers my questions in a timely fashion. She made sure that I was comfortable with my workouts and meals plans that were geared to my lifestyle.

What is the worst part about working with Julie?

    I don’t have any complaints!

    Favorite 'diet' food:

My favorite “diet” food would have to be two caramel rice cakes with 2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter, and 2 teaspoons of Polnar’s sugar free high fiber strawberry jelly. It may seem plain, but I looked forward to eating this each day!

    Other comments

If you are looking to meet other women who have similar fitness goals, and share the same lifestyle changes I would recommend working with Julie in the FITBODY Contest Prep Team Program. The atmosphere during team meetings is something that you can’t get everywhere. It is uplifting to meet up with your team mates and celebrate everyone’s fitness goals, as well as sharing advice and recommendations about spicing up your food and trying new things. Good luck to all of you that are working towards a healthier lifestyle, it pays off in more ways than one. Trust the process!
