    Personal Information

    I am a 31 year old mother of two small children.  I have a four year old son and a ten month old daughter. I began training in January of 2013 when my youngest child was just three months old.  I have always enjoyed exercise, but I had never branched away from the standard cardio routines. Weight training was never on my mind.  After having my daughter, I felt this incredible desire to get back into shape and have a body I was proud of and not the typical “you look great for just having a baby” physique.  A close friend of mine was on Julie’s team and convinced me to join as well. It was one of the most rewarding decisions I have ever made for myself.

    What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?

    I competed in the 2013 NPC Kentucky Derby competition and placed 9th out of 23 beautiful women.  It was my first ever competition and I was extremely happy with my results and placement. My most difficult challenge by far was the fear of the stage.  I am one who is beyond not being comfortable in front of others, however, when the time came I was surprisingly confident because I knew I felt great about my body.

    WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN & WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MAKE THE TRANSFORMATION?

    When I started training in January I believe I was at about 24% body fat.  After 4 lifestyle-changing months, I dropped to right around 11%.  The transformation was impressive to say the least.  With the amazing support of my husband and the flexibility of my children, I was able to create a realistic schedule to accommodate my diet and workout requirements. It wasn’t always easy hitting the gym at 4:30 am or 9 pm, but we all made sacrifices and made it work.  My family ROCKS !!

    What do you enjoy most about fitness?

    The think the thing I enjoy about fitness the most is the immediate sense of self gratification. The sweat, the sore muscles, the mental conversations you have telling yourself “two more reps, you got this”. I made every workout count because I was giving up too much precious time to have a slump of a workout.

    What are your fitness goals?

    My fitness goals are simple.  I want to be healthy, look good and be confident with the way I look.

    What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

    My biggest motivation is knowing how far I have come since January and how quickly I can lose it all.  I have worked too hard and made too many sacrifcies to revert back to my old diet and exercise habits.  And on top of that, I have an entirely new  wardrobe I would hate to lose.

    What is the best part about working with Julie?

    Where do I begin.  Julie is the most positive and motivating woman I have had the  privilege of spending time with.  She genuinely cares about my success and took the necessary time to design a plan specifically for me and my needs. With this being my first experience in competitive training, she truly walked me through every step of the way and I was beyond impressed with her knowledge and skill.  The team meetings were fun and energetic. The mock competition hosted by Julie was phenomenal is making me aware and understand the lay out of the shows.

    Favorite 'diet' food:

    Hands down, my favorite “diet” food was plain greek yogurt mixed with vanilla UMP and topped with blueberries. I try to find a way to get this into my meals as often as possible.

    Working with Julie
