    Personal Information

My life is full of so much diversity at every corner. I work 75 hours a week on average. The main reason I mention this is because many people tell me they work too much to workout. It’s just another excuse that is keeping them from realizing  their true potential. I am a personal trainer, pilates, yoga, spinning and trx instructor. In addition to juggling my schedule as a trainer, I also teach private piano and voice lessons to children after school 4 days a week. When I am not training or teaching, I am the Director of Operations for Indoor Cycling Association! Whew!
I love love my husband who has been a great support during this process as well as my “Sister in Iron,” Nadia, who busts her butt with me 24/7 at the gym.

My life is full of support and it makes all the difference in the world.  My favorite thing to do is enjoy life on the beach, on the trail, at the gym, or at the coffee shop with my favorite people.

What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?

During the past few years, I have accomplished some personal goals with running and cycling. I participated in the Flying Pig, the MS150, the Sunflower Revolution and few other events. I decided this year to turn my focus to figure competitions…it is the final horizon for me. I will get there–aiming for Spring 2013!

WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN & WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MAKE THE TRANSFORMATION?

I have only been working with Julie for about 20 weeks (I’m at week 20) and the changes are terrific. I have lost a total of 25 lbs since I really committed to this process of clean eating (This is the real truth). I have improved my overall strength and lost a ton of inches. The transformation that was most important for me–putting myself first. I let myself gain weight because I was so busy training and taking care of everyone else. Never again–part of healthy living is loving yourself and that means–carving out some “Me” time.

What do you enjoy most about fitness?

I love fitness because you are never done. There is always a new challenge–always a way to be better. My life is dedicated to personal growth and improvement in a holistic sense and fitness ties it all together: mind, body, and spirit.

    What are your fitness goals?

    My current fitness goals are:
Perfect my handstand and forearm balances in yoga
Ride in the CCFA fundraiser in honor of my husband who has ulcerative colitis
Be less afraid of riding down hills fast…
    the list goes on…

What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

There are several huge reasons I maintain a healthy lifestyle. The first is knowing today might be my last day and I want to be able to live it having fun. To have fun, I must be healthy so I can try out fun activities and go on adventures. The second motivator is my parents. I want to prevent the onset of heart conditions, cancer, and other diseases that run in my family. My dad has had 3 heart surgeries and chemo due to an unhealthy lifestyle. He is a fighter and has survived all of these struggles but I certainly do not want to follow in this path of difficulty. The third reason: It is essential for my mental health!!

What is the best part about working with Julie?

It is obvious that Julie has it together! I love my plans–it makes my time easy! Instead of having to think about what to do–I just stick to the plan. Julie is super sweet and supportive and encouraging when you feel stuck. I have been really pleased with the program and Julie!

What is the worst part about working with Julie?

Honestly, nothing about working with Julie is bad! I wish I could get a coffee and hang with her! 😉

    Favorite 'diet' food:

Hmmm–this is probably going to sound hilarious but…I created this snack I call a “Buckeye” for when I am really craving a treat. It’s a dark chocolate sugar free jello pudding cup combined with a tablespoon of natural peanut butter–it really does the trick! 🙂
