    Med ball oblique twists can be done from a standing or seated position. Sit on the floor with your knees bent, feet flat and your back angled 45 degrees to the floor. The ball should rest on the floor just outside of your left hip at this point. In a steady motion, lift the ball and rotate your torso toward your right side, touching the ball to the floor outside your hip. Quickly reverse the direction and continue to go back and forth maintaining a straight back and tight core.

    Upward Abdominal Hip Thrusts begin by laying flat on your back and lifting your legs straight up toward the ceiling.  Using your lower abdominal muscles, bring your hips and lower back up off the floor.  Strive to maintain your feet above your hips as you lift upward.   Reverse the direction bringing your hips back to the floor. Focus on control with the upward abdominal hip thrusts rather than speed.

    Medicine Ball Sit Ups begin by laying flat on your back with knees bent so that your heels are about 6 inches from your glutes.  Hold a moderate weight medicine ball overhead behind you.  As you sit up, keep your chest and head lifted, avoiding an exaggerated rounding of the lower back.  Arms are straight out front as you end with the medicine ball held over your knees.   With control, descend back to the starting position as you bring the medicine ball back down and over head to skim the floor.

    Lying Leg Raises begin by laying flat on your back with your legs straight out.  Hands and arms should be rested comfortably at your sides.  Using the core and maintaining a straight leg position, lift your legs upward while keeping the lower back pressed into the floor.  This is key with lying leg raises!  Legs will arc overhead, passing vertical and should continue on as far as your flexibility allows.  With lying leg raises, the ideal end position is with the toes touching the floor over head.  With control, pass back through that over head arc and bring the legs slowly back down to the floor.

    Med Ball Oblique Scissors begin sitting on the floor with your knees bent, feet flat and your back angled 45 degrees to the floor. Lift one leg at a time as you thread the medicine ball between your feet.  Maintaining a straight back in the med ball oblique scissors if critical.
