    Personal Information

I’m 40 years old and a mother of two boys Jake 11 and Parker 4.  I have been happily married to my best friend Ryan for 16 years.  I have a full time career as a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep in the field of dermatology.  Throughout my life I have always been active in sports including soccer, dance, water skiing and cheerleading.   I competed at the collegiate level in cheerleading but after graduating college needed something to keep me active so I turned to the weight room.  I have been active in the gym since 1996 but it wasn’t until the age of 34 that I decided to compete for the first time.  At the time my intent was to do one show just to say I did it but I got hooked.

What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?

In 2006 I signed up for two small local shows,  I placed 2nd in the A class in my first show and 1st in the A class in my second show.  The transformation process taught me the intensity needed to train for a competition and I gained 4lbs of lean muscle and hit the stage at 9% body fat.  I then took time off to have my second child and didn’t know if I would compete again, but…..I couldn’t stay away.  In 2010 I contacted Julie discussed my fitness/competition goals and joined the Fitbody Team in 2011.  I competed in 4 shows in 2011.  The Northern KY 2011 placing 2nd in the A class, The Derby placing 1st in the A class and 1st in masters division,  the Monster Mash placed 5th in the open A class and the KY Muscle placing 6th in the masters division and 4th in the open A class.  I was also featured in the Beverly International publication No Nonsense, volume 16.

Since then I have made the leap to the National stage competing in the 2013 Arnold Classic and place 5th, NPC Jr. USA’s placing 3rd and NPC Masters Nationals Over 35 placing 4th!

I turned pro in the WNBF winning the Figure Overall at the 2012 INBF Tri State Bodybuilding & Figure Championship!

WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN & WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MAKE THE TRANSFORMATION?

I used to be 92lbs of skin and bones.  I am now healthy with feminine muscles.  I have transformed my mind, body and attitude in a healthy way.  I have gained lean muscle and reduced body fat but I’m not done yet.  To me this is a journey, a lifestyle and I’m looking to continue to beat my own personal best.

What do you enjoy most about fitness?

This is my “me” time where I can challenge myself, shape my physique and relieve stress all at the same time.  As a busy mom and career woman I often get busy doing for others and this is my chance to give back to me.  At the end of the day I love the energy I get from training, it allows me to keep up with my busy boys and it sets a good example for them.

    What are your fitness goals?

I want to continue to compete in NPC shows and work to improve my physique with each new experience.  A future goal I have set for myself is to compete in the Arnold classic in 2013.  Ultimately I would love to do more photo shoots and possibly work towards doing some fitness modeling.

What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

I love this sport, the friendships I have made along the way, the changes I have made mentally and physically.  I have been inspired by so many women in this sport and that keeps me motivated and I hope that someday I inspire others as well.

What is the best part about working with Julie?

Julie is such a genuine person, she leads by example and she knows her stuff!!  Julie is so encouraging and supportive that it’s motivating working with someone who believes in me even more than I do.

What is the worst part about working with Julie?

The distance is the probably the only bad part because through this process I have become so dependent on her direction I feel almost lost if I don’t have it at all times.  It would also be great to have her there with me at the gym pushing me but I’m sure all her clients feel that way.  I need a Julie clone, lol.

Training with Julie has been an amazing experience and all I can say is I wish I had started with her sooner.  I have worked with other trainers and she is so attentive to individual goals and needs.  She really understands the female body and tailors programs that fit the lives of busy mothers and career women.  I have developed so many friendships as part of the Team FITBODY Program and I look forward to continue traveling this journey.

What I enjoy most about fitness is that it is my “me” time, it’s a stress reliever and it’s amazing to me to take what God gave me and be able to sculpt it and create the look that I want.
