    Personal Information

    I am 37 years old, and the wife to the most wonderful man in the world. I work within the Department of Defense, managing IT programs. My transformation could not happen without the love, support, and encouragement of my husband. We live this lifestyle together – eating clean, going to the gym – the whole thing!

    WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN & WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MAKE THE TRANSFORMATION?

    As a child I was obese, weighing 153lbs in elementary school! My 20’s were a dieting roller coaster ride of going from as small as a size 8 to as big as a size 14. My peak weight was in the 160’s and my body fat ranged between 23-25%. All the time in the gym did not make-up for the atrocious eating habits! In 2008 I resolved to take control of my fitness journey by committing to clean eating. By 2009, a disciplined, consistent training program was added. After my first competition, I had a rough rebound – gaining 15 pounds! I turned to Julie to help me lean out and shape my physique with lean muscle mass. Since working with Julie, I’ve made the lean muscle gains while losing the fat. The best part – the v-taper and shoulder caps!

    What do you enjoy most about fitness?

    This fitness journey is the most fun and exciting journey! Sharing it with my husband is icing on the UMP brownie! Fitness is something that we can do together, something that we can share.   A fit lifestyle brings discipline, challenges, accomplishment, empowerment, and structure to life. I am a better woman, wife, sister, and professional because of it. And it brought me to Julie!

    What are your fitness goals?

    Compete. Continue to improve my physique. Continue a balanced approach to fitness.  Continue to work with Julie!

    What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

    Remembering where I’ve come from and knowing where I want to be. Both my parents have passed away because of health issues. Living a healthy lifestyle isn’t a guarantee, but it does make a significant difference in quality of life.

    What is the best part about working with Julie?

    It is impossible for me to put to words all that Julie means to me. The best part of working with Julie is everything! Julie is always there when I need her. She has coached and mentored me, helping me find balance, and keeping me on a healthy fitness path. Our work together is truly a partnership and I would not want to live this lifestyle without her.

    What is the worst part about working with Julie?

    The only thing I would change would be to not live so far away! Living in Virginia, I cannot make all the Team meetings and body comp updates. But I get there when I can, and it’s always a wonderful time!

    Favorite 'diet' food:

    UMP pancakes – vanilla spice, pumpkin, chocolate PB2…LOVE THEM! And UMP brownie batter – what a way to end the day!

    Any other comments or anything else you would like to share

    Transformations do not happen overnight. Whether losing fat, building muscle, or attempting to do both – it does not happen overnight, nor does it happen when we want it happen. With patience, acceptance, consistency, discipline, CLEAN EATING!, passion, and confidence, goals are achievable no matter how far out of reach they may seem at the time.

    Don’t limit yourself and don’t let others convince that you are limited in what you can do. Believe in yourself and then live and train so as to reach your goals, dreams, and potential. Accept yourself and all that your body has to give.
